COSMIC MESSAGE
The Tarantula Nebula is over a thousand light-years across, a giant cloud of glowing gas in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Inside, a cluster of massive young stars called R136 energizes the nebula and shapes its spidery filaments. This color mosaic from ESO's 2.2-meter telescope at La Silla Observatory shows other star clusters in the region.
