Egging On the Autumnal Equinox
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Today is the autumnal equinox, but the myth that eggs can only stand on end today is false. Eggs can be balanced on end any day of the year. Dr. Phil Plait, the Bad Astronomer, balanced three raw eggs in October 1998. The little-appreciated fact is that most eggshells have small bumps, making this seemingly impossible task achievable.
