COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 1977, NGC 1975, and NGC 1973 are a group of reflection nebulae located just north of the brighter Orion Nebula. These nebulae are about 1,500 light-years away and are associated with Orion's giant molecular cloud. The characteristic blue color comes from interstellar dust reflecting the light of nearby young stars. This region is often called the Running Man Nebula.
