The Lynx Arc

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

While studying a mysterious arc in a galaxy cluster in the constellation Lynx, astronomers found the most massive and distant star-forming region ever discovered. The notably red "Lynx arc" is to the right of center in this image, a composite of Hubble Space Telescope and ground-based data. The galaxy cluster is about 5 billion light-years away, but the arc itself is actually at a distance of 12 billion light-years.
