Milky Way over Easter Island

The Milky Way stretches over Easter Island, an ancient place with over 900 large stone statues called moai. These statues, carved by the Rapa Nui people, stand on average twice as tall as a person. They were created about 600 years ago, perhaps in the images of local leaders. The island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the galaxy as a backdrop.
