COSMIC MESSAGE

In this photo, Comet Ikeya-Zhang and the Andromeda Galaxy appear together in the skies over the Oriental Pyrenees. The Andromeda Galaxy, Messier 31, is our closest large galactic neighbor, about 2.5 million light-years away. Comet Ikeya-Zhang was a bright comet visible in 2002, making its closest approach to Earth in April of that year.
