Valles Marineris from Mars Express

The Mars Express spacecraft looked down into Valles Marineris, the Grand Canyon of Mars. Its High Resolution Stereo Camera scanned a swath 1,700 by 65 kilometers, recording the rugged terrain with 12-meter resolution. This picture reconstructs part of that scan from January 14, 2004, showing the immense scale of the Martian canyon system.
