This Hubble Space Telescope image of NGC 4622 shows its beautiful spiral arms, traced by bluish star clusters and dark dust lanes. Located 100 million light-years away in Centaurus, the galaxy presents a puzzle: its outer arms appear to wind in the opposite direction from what astronomers initially expected for a counterclockwise rotation. This observation challenges our understanding of how spiral galaxies evolve.
