NASA APOD · Jimmy Westlake (Colorado Mountain College)
COSMIC MESSAGE

Only a few days ago, Mercury and Venus reached their greatest elongation, their maximum apparent distance from the Sun. Astronomer Jimmy Westlake captured this view of the two innermost planets shining in the western twilight skies above Yampa, Colorado. Mercury, the brightest object near the horizon, and Venus are both easily visible in this digital camera image.
