A Berry Bowl of Martian Spherules

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Opportunity rover on Mars found thousands of small, gray spherules, nicknamed 'blueberries,' made of iron and rock. They were embedded in and around rocks near the landing site. To investigate their origin, Opportunity found a surface called the Berry Bowl, which was rich in these Martian orbs. The blueberries average only a few millimeters in diameter.
