The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft, launched in 1997, approached Saturn in 2004. This image, taken two weeks before its orbit insertion, shows Saturn from 24 million kilometers away. Cassini spent years orbiting the ringed giant, studying its moons and rings, and even dropped a probe onto Titan.
