NGC 7331: A Galaxy So Inclined

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Spiral galaxy NGC 7331, located 50 million light-years away, is thought to be very similar to our own Milky Way. This false-color infrared image from the Spitzer Space Telescope shows older, cooler stars in blue dominating the central bulge. Spitzer data also indicates the presence of a black hole within the galaxy's core. Its inclination to our line of sight offers a perspective akin to how our galaxy might appear from afar.
