Stars and Dust in Corona Australis

COSMIC MESSAGE
A cosmic dust cloud sprawls across a rich field of stars in Corona Australis, the Southern Crown. This dust cloud, probably less than 500 light-years away, blocks light from more distant background stars in the Milky Way. Its densest part is about 8 light-years long, with lovely blue nebulae like NGC 6726, 6727, 6729, and IC 4812 at its tip. Their blue color comes from starlight reflecting off the dust.
