An aurora glows over Quebec, Canada, in this fish-eye lens view from Observatoire Mont Cosmos. Energetic particles from the Sun interact with Earth's atmosphere, causing the green and purple hues at altitudes of 100 kilometers or more. The lights along the horizon are terrestrial, giving the low clouds an orange cast.
