Halloween and the Ghost Head Nebula
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Ghost Head Nebula, NGC 2080, is about 160,000 light-years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The two "eyes" of the ghost are regions of active star formation. The left eye, a bubble of hydrogen and oxygen, is about 50 times the diameter of our solar system. The right eye is a cluster of hot, young stars that have cleared away their birth cocoons of gas and dust.
