Moon Over Shiraz
NASA APOD · Ahmad Karimi,
COSMIC MESSAGE
Early morning risers around the world enjoyed the sight of bright planets in this week's predawn skies, enhanced by the waning crescent Moon. From some locations, the Moon passed in front of Jupiter or Venus in a lunar occultation. This eastern horizon view, recorded near sunrise from Shiraz, Iran, finds Jupiter and a brilliant Venus in line with the Moon. It is a lovely conjunction of the three brightest objects in the night sky.
