COSMIC MESSAGE

The 1999 Leonids Meteor Shower reached an impressive peak for observers in Europe. Around 0210 UTC on November 18, meteor counts exceeded 1000 per hour, classifying it as a true meteor storm. At other times and locations, observers reported between 30 and 100 meteors per hour. This photograph is a 20-minute exposure ending just before the peak.
