COSMIC MESSAGE

The path of the robot rover Spirit on Mars can be traced far into the distance in this image. Spirit crossed kilometers of plains covered with rocks and sand, approached a 200-meter crater, and climbed a series of hills. Landing inside Gusev crater, Spirit, along with its sister robot Opportunity, uncovered key evidence for ancient Martian water. This journey was one of adventure and discovery.
