COSMIC MESSAGE
On December 8, a full Moon and a full Mars were close in Earth's sky, both bright and opposite the Sun. From some locations in Europe and North America, Mars was occulted, passing behind the Moon. This time-lapse sequence from Kosice, Slovakia, shows Mars disappearing behind the Moon just before sunrise.
