NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
A cluster of powerful, young stars, RCW 38, glows in X-rays, about 6,000 light-years away in Vela. The Chandra Observatory captured this image, showing point-like X-ray sources from the stars' hot atmospheres. A diffuse cloud of X-rays surrounds them, with different colors indicating different energy levels. Blue shows high energies, green is medium, and red is low energy X-rays.
