NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
About 2,000 years ago, a massive star exploded in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The rampaging explosion front is now seen moving out, destroying or displacing ambient gas clouds and leaving behind dense knots of gas and dust. What remains is N63A, one of the largest supernova remnants in the LMC, with many surviving dense knots.
