COSMIC MESSAGE
NGC 4565, also known as the Needle Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy seen edge-on from Earth. It lies in the constellation Coma Berenices. This image reveals its bulging central core, dominated by older, yellowish stars. The core is dramatically cut by dark dust lanes lacing through the galaxy's thin plane.
