Star Trails Over Vienna

NASA APOD · Peter Wienerroither (U. Wien)
COSMIC MESSAGE

As Earth spins, the sky appears to rotate around us. This motion creates beautiful concentric trails in long-exposure photographs of stars. In this image, the North Celestial Pole is at the center of all the star trail arcs. Polaris, the North Star, made the short, bright circle near the pole. These full-circle star trails were captured over Vienna, Austria.
