The Belt of Venus over Elwood Beach

COSMIC MESSAGE

Just before sunrise or after sunset, you might see a pinkish band of light above the horizon. This is called the Belt of Venus. It's caused by sunlight reflecting off the atmosphere. This atmospheric effect is visible in nearly every direction, including opposite the Sun.
