The Heart and Soul Nebulas

NASA APOD · Richard Crisp (narrowbandimaging.com)
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Heart and Soul Nebulas, found in Cassiopeia, are two bright emission nebulas. The Heart Nebula, officially IC 1805, has a shape reminiscent of a classical heart symbol. Both nebulas, shown here in false color, glow brightly from energized hydrogen gas. Several young open clusters of stars are visible within and around the nebula centers. These regions are active sites of star formation, providing insights into stellar evolution.
