COSMIC MESSAGE

This telescopic view shows July's Full Moon distorted and darkened near the horizon. Atmospheric turbulence creates a thin 'mirage' shape above the Moon's upper edge. There is also a noticeable green rim, caused by atmospheric refraction, which is more visible in the inset.
