COSMIC MESSAGE
The Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, were particularly active in September 2005 due to a not-so-quiet Sun. A large solar active region produced intense flares and a coronal mass ejection. This image, captured with a fish-eye lens over Quebec, Canada, shows spectacular curtains of aurora on September 11.
