Japan's Hayabusa spacecraft approaches asteroid Itokawa, a mission to study the asteroid's composition. Hayabusa stationed itself just 20 kilometers from Itokawa to measure its mass and surface properties. Understanding asteroids helps us learn about the early solar system.
