COSMIC MESSAGE
This photo captures the Moon low on the eastern horizon, appearing a deep orange. Our atmosphere filters and reddens moonlight when it's near the horizon. It also bends different colors of light at slightly different angles, which can cause subtle color shifts. This particular view was taken from Stuttgart, Germany, just before the autumn equinox.
