COSMIC MESSAGE
This 180-degree panorama from the South African Astronomical Observatory shows the Earth's shadow at sunset. The dark, wedge-shaped shadow stretches into the atmosphere. Above it, a delicate pinkish arch, known as the Belt of Venus, is visible. It's a natural phenomenon seen opposite the setting or rising Sun.
