Spiral Galaxy NGC 2403 from Subaru

COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 2403 is a spiral galaxy just beyond our Local Group, about ten million light-years away in the constellation Camelopardalis. This Subaru Telescope image shows sprawling spiral arms dotted with bright red emission nebulae. Blue open clusters, dark dust lanes, and a bright, relatively small central nucleus are also visible.
