NGC 2392 Nebula from Hubble

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 2392, also known as the Eskimo Nebula, is a planetary nebula discovered by William Herschel in 1787. This Hubble Space Telescope image reveals complex gas clouds that were once the outer layers of a Sun-like star. Strong winds of particles from the dying star are ejecting the inner filaments, creating its distinctive shape. The nebula is about 10,000 years old, a blink in cosmic time.
