COSMIC MESSAGE

Put on your red and blue glasses to view this 3D stereo image from the Moon's Taurus-Littrow valley. It shows Apollo 17's Lunar Rover in the foreground, with the Lunar Module and distant hills behind it. This location was called the VIP Site because the Rover's TV camera broadcast the Lunar Module's ascent stage liftoff. Astronauts Cernan and Schmitt explored this area in December 1972.
