NGC 6357, a star-forming region, creates some of the most massive stars ever discovered. It houses the open star cluster Pismis 24, home to tremendously bright, blue stars. The red glow comes from ionized hydrogen gas. This nebula, 8,000 light-years away in Scorpius, holds a complex mix of gas, dark dust, and newly born stars.
