Saturn's Hyperion: A Moon with Odd Craters

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

Hyperion, one of Saturn's moons, has a surface that looks like a sponge, covered in strange craters. The Cassini spacecraft flew past it in 2005, taking this detailed image in false color. The different colors suggest variations in the moon's surface composition, but the dark material at the bottom of the craters remains a mystery.
