COSMIC MESSAGE
A young crescent Moon shares the western sky with the Pleiades star cluster in this early evening image. The Moon is overexposed, but earthshine illuminates its dark side, allowing surface features to be seen. The Pleiades' blue reflection nebulae are usually prominent, but here they are washed out by clouds and bright moonlight.
