Halloween and the Ghost Head Nebula
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Ghost Head Nebula, NGC 2080, is a star-forming region in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of our Milky Way. It is about 160,000 light-years away. This nebula's shape is carved by the powerful winds and radiation from hot, young stars within it. The Halloween connection is purely visual, but it makes for a striking image.
