Stardust in Perseus

COSMIC MESSAGE

This expanse of dust, gas, and stars covers about four degrees in the constellation Perseus. At its center is the blue reflection nebula NGC 1333, about 1,000 light-years away. The field of view is nearly 70 light-years across, filled with other reflection nebulae, dark dust nebulae, and the faint reddish glow of hydrogen gas.
