Cygnus Without Stars

COSMIC MESSAGE
The northern part of Cygnus reveals cosmic clouds of hydrogen gas along the plane of our Milky Way galaxy. This twelve-degree-wide mosaic was recorded through an H-alpha filter, which only transmits visible red light from glowing hydrogen atoms. Most of the point-like Milky Way stars have been digitally removed to emphasize the nebulae.
