COSMIC MESSAGE
The galaxy NGC 5907, an edge-on spiral, appears surrounded by faint tidal streams of stars. These arcing structures extend over 150,000 light-years from the galaxy. These streams are thought to be the debris of a smaller dwarf galaxy that was torn apart and merged with NGC 5907 billions of years ago.
