Young Suns of NGC 7129

NASA APOD · Fera Photography
COSMIC MESSAGE

Young stars are still forming within NGC 7129, a region about 3,000 light-years away in the constellation Cepheus. These stars are only about a million years old. Our own Sun likely formed in a similar stellar nursery about five billion years ago. Bluish dust clouds reflect the starlight, and smaller, deep red crescent shapes indicate energetic young stellar objects.
