Arp 147 is a pair of interacting galaxies, each shaped like a ring. The blue galaxy on the right has a 30,000 light-year-wide ring of newly formed stars, created by a recent collision with the red galaxy on the left. The red galaxy also shows a ring structure, which is unusual for such interactions.
