Seventeen Hundred Kilometers Above Enceladus

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

This image is one of the closest views of Saturn's moon Enceladus, taken by the Cassini spacecraft from about 1,700 kilometers above the surface. It shows the moon's active 'tiger stripe' region, where ice plumes erupt into space. Features as small as a bus are visible, revealing a surface with grooves and hills, but few impact craters.
