Possible Jet Blown Shells Near Microquasar Cygnus X-1

NASA APOD · Steve Cullen (lightbuckets.com)
COSMIC MESSAGE

Cygnus X-1 is a microquasar, a system with a black hole accreting matter from a companion star. As gas falls toward the black hole, it forms an accretion disk. Powerful jets expel much of this matter back into space at near light speed. This process makes the microquasar glow across the electromagnetic spectrum.
