Moonrise Over Turkey
NASA APOD · Tahir Sisman
COSMIC MESSAGE
Our moon, rising over Turkey, appears to grow larger as it approaches the horizon. This is an illusion, of course. The Moon is the same size no matter where it is in the sky, but our brains play tricks on us. This photo shows the effect, with the Moon appearing to be a giant disk over the landscape.
