In the year 1006 AD, a supernova, likely the brightest in recorded history, lit up Earth's sky. Its expanding debris cloud, known as SN 1006, is still putting on a cosmic light show. This composite view combines X-ray data from the Chandra Observatory, optical data, and radio image data. It is found in the southerly constellation of Lupus.
