COSMIC MESSAGE
During a total solar eclipse, bright sunlight can stream through valleys on the Moon's edge. This creates what are called Baily's Beads, named after Francis Baily who described the phenomenon in 1836. These glistening diamonds appear as the total eclipse phase begins or ends, even if clouds hide the corona.
