Stars, Dust and Nebula in NGC 6559

NASA APOD · Adam Block
COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 6559 is a textbook example of a star-forming region. It contains red-glowing emission nebulae of hydrogen, blue reflection nebulae of dust, and dark absorption nebulae of dust. The stars that formed from these clouds emit energetic light and winds that sculpt their birthplace. This process creates a complex and beautiful environment.
