COSMIC MESSAGE

This image captures a striking contrast in motion: the space shuttle Discovery slowly moving toward its launch pad at Kennedy Space Center, and a meteor streaking across the sky at high speed. This photo was taken on August 4, just before the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower. Skywatchers saw many such meteors that week.
