Block Island Meteorite on Mars

This unusual rock, named Block Island, was discovered by the Opportunity rover on Mars. After being analyzed with X-rays and other instruments, it was identified as a fallen meteorite. It stands out on the smooth Martian plain due to its isolation, odd shape, and large size. The rover was preparing to inspect it further in this image.
